Kanye West And Jay Z Are Allegedly At Odds Over Tidal Contract
It’s no secret that Jay Z and his little brother Kanye have not been on the best of terms lately. After Ye ranted on stage about their kids not being able to hang out a few months back, Hov’s response finally arrived with a whole lotta jabs on the opening song to his new album ‘4:44.’ Though this might be good reason for Kanye to want to split from his Tidal contract, apparently he’s been unhappy with it for a long time and his lawyer sent them a letter over a month ago.
It is said that Kanye and his team are upset because the streaming service owes him over 3 million dollars. After sending their first letter and both sides being able to work out a deal, Ye’s lawyers allegedly sent out another letter a couple weeks later declaring that they were in a breach of contract and they’re done for good.
Not only has Tidal supposedly not reimbursed West for his music videos, but also promised to give him a bonus for the 1.5 million subscribers her brought to the service with his album ‘The Life Of Pablo’–and he hasn’t been given that either. As far as Tidal is concerned, they don’t believe they are in breach of contract with the rapper and still consider themselves to be in am exclusive deal with Ye.
