Another day, another sad case of a teen’s life cut short.
Police found the body of a Virginia teen this weekend after they say she was kidnapped and killed after leaving a mosque. Nabra Hassanen,17, was murdered Sunday after she and a group of friends were confronted near a mosque in Sterling, Virginia.
According to The Huffington Post, Nabra was walking with friends near the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) Center about 4 a.m. Sunday after Ramadan prayers when a man shouted at them as he drove past.
The friends told authorities that after a verbal dispute, the man jumped out his car with a baseball bat and they scattered and ran. Nabra, however, was left behind and attacked by the man now believed to be 22-year-old Darwin Martinez Torres.
Police found what they believe to be Nabra’s remains in a nearby pond with a baseball bat nearby. They will now conduct an autopsy to confirm identity and cause of death.
People are urging police to consider the teen’s heinous murder a hate crime, but so far Farifax County police won’t budge. SMH…
