Nicki Minaj Afraid To Get Barbie-Q’d By The Competition At The BET Awards?

Nicki Minaj has become a fixture at BET’s awards show over the last few year. Since her more humble beginnings as a Young Money caricature, she’s been sweeping the Best Female Rap Artist category and blessing the red carpet. This year, however, Nicki plans to skip the event. Seems like she had prior obligations, but do they really stop her from attending? The “No Frauds” rapper confirms she’s performing at the NBA awards, a day after the BET awards takes place.

But, is Nicki shading BET with the way she worded her announcement? She says:

My darlings, this is the ONLY award show I’ll be attending this month. Set your DVR’s. You won’t want to miss this PERFORMANCE.

Hmmm, fans seems to think it’s shade. This year Nicki is nominated in the same category as her rival Remy Ma and Cardi B, who she is rumored to have sneak-dissed. Maybe she’s mad at BET because of that?
